DSI Recreational and Introduction to 4WD

Want to learn how to safely handle your 4WD in a variety of environments safely?

Whether you have just bought your first 4WD or have been out with your 4×4 often, our courses will have you in the driver’s seat and having fun!

As well as relevant and lifesaving theory points, we will have you enjoying a hands on, practical experience in your own vehicle in a variety of terrains.

Get dirty and feel the thrill of river crossings and negotiating which route to take.

If you go 4WD driving often, you will at some point get bogged. In our training courses, we will cover recovery techniques including winch and snatch strap recovery as well as providing advice on what recovery equipment is suitable for your vehicle.

Get your 4 x 4 over hill climbs and learn a stall start. Our trainers are 4WD enthusiasts and focused on keeping you engaged the entire day!

You will learn the different operating systems of your 4WD, the importance of trip planning and the correct operation of a 4WD on and off road, including differing terrains, with correct usage of both low and high range.

Driver Skills International Recreational 4WD training courses are available Australia wide and are specifically designed to keep you safe when operating both on and off road.

Outcomes

At the completion of the course it is expected that all drivers will demonstrate –

Drivers will use their own vehicle during the practical components of this course (must be registered and subject to basic safety checks). All relevant road laws must be adhered to at all times.
